This dinner was designed to inspire the guests, to push into new territories of design while drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of the historic hotel itself. The planner asked for a playful spin on refined maximalism blended with jazz/speak easy vibes.

To accomplish this, I used an abundant variety of texture while keeping the overall form organic. I added some surprising elements like stacks of mum heads wired together and surly spirals of hanging amaranthus, which naturally hang straight. To honor the location and season, I also used locally grown ingredients such as mint, zinnias and palmetto branches.

The florals were designed with planner Wright & Co at the luxury hotel The Dewberry Charleston with rentals from BBJ and Table Made Co, music by Other Brother, photography provided by Calen Rose and Abigail Lewis.
