Marigolds at the Dallas Arboretum

Orange and Green Summer Wedding Flowers

I met this dynamic couple at the Dallas Arboretum’s annual showcase. I liked them immediately and I was so pleased when they later reached out about their wedding flowers. They were one of those clients who knew exactly what they wanted, they just needed a little help working through what their vision meant exactly for flowers, how to work it into their budget, and partnering with someone they could count on to produce it.

They both loved the structural look of dangling textures, leggy blooms breaking away from their arrangement, and clusters of like color. It was an exciting wedding to create! Marigolds were an important part of their design. I enjoyed navigating the logistics, working through how to ensure the presence of this dense, standout bloom. Marigolds were in fact in season for this September wedding, but we needed so many of them, I made sure to order bunches of marigolds from three separate sources in order to ensure SOME at least showed up (read more about the sourcing process in this post). When working with a perishable product like flowers, there are so many hands, steps and points of nature involved, that it’s really remarkable that the flowers arrive at all for any event!
