East Texas Wedding at Dove Hollow

Before they had even booked the venue, the Mother of the Bride asked me to do the event design in addition to the wedding florals for her engaged daughter who had met her sweetheart while living in Colorado. The couple wanted to create an event that was classy and elevated while also feeling unique and comfortable—something between debutante ball and rounding up cattle. It was a wonderful challenge and I delighted in every part of the process. I also couldn’t have executed it without the support and collaboration from Mad Love Events, the in house planner at Dove Hollow Estate.

I had a fabulous time working with Joby and Ella. They are the kind of couple that, upon first meeting, you are immediately enchanted and know with absolute certainty that, come what may, they will be together ‘till death forces them apart.

Ella came to me already in love with a green stripe stationary set. That became the grounding element for the rest of our design decisions. Although the classy part of her wanted to keep the color palette soft and feminine, I loved how her Texas spirit gave her the courage to blend all kinds of patterns and textures. The result was stunning and unique in a way that supported the couple without shifting the focus away from them.
